September saw a new departure for Cheltenham Branch with a “Clock and Watch Clinic” in place of the usual evening meeting. Attendance was the highest for any Cheltenham Branch evening meeting for very many years, with a substantial contingent of local residents bringing in dozens of items for appraisal, advice and adjustment, by a team of professional and retired horologists and fellow enthusiasts. The items brought in for inspection left variously: in working order for re-installation; or for repair by local BHI accredited horologists; or in some cases for sale by auction or donation to charity shops. The Cheltenham Branch team of advisors have the satisfaction of a job well done, local residents have expressed their appreciation for the time and trouble taken and results achieved, and the profile of the branch has been raised within the local community.
